When thinking about the perfect candidate for your open position, certain qualifications may instantaneously come to mind. These may include being organized, put together and the presence of a Type-A personality. Now close your eyes and think of someone with a complete non-fear of change, someone with a true personality. A logical but somewhat creative individual who isn’t afraid to contribute opinions into the conversation. Someone that can thrive through lots of responsibility and at the end of the day has a positive attitude on all levels.
Remember that the right candidate will be comfortable working around your environment and will recall their schedule and calendar. Your friends expect you to remember their birthdays and know that when you say you’ll be able to do something that you will do it. Is your candidate able to list their best friends birthday? How about their parents? Find the intuitive side of your candidate, do they seem able to see things that can be done without being told? Your candidate is not looking for a glamorous job, they are in it to make your team and company stand out from the rest.
Lastly, go back to the basics. STELLAR communication skills are key. Poorly written sentences and typos are often overlooked. Don’t underestimate the power of an individual who can write legitimate emails and talk with poise, and proper sentence structure. You are a stickler about this so your potential employee will hold themselves to the higher standard as well. Did the audition sound amazing? Rockstar Status Attained!
